What does the Hamsa symbolize?
The Hamsa hand necklace represents a hand with symmetrical thumbs and an image of an eye in the center of the hand. The eye is often referred to as the evil eye and is seen as a protector from jealousy or malice. The Hamsa when used in jewelry is believed to protect the wearer from bad luck, illness and misadventure. In home decorating the Hamsa is believed to protect the residents of the home. The powers of the Hamsa are believed to be very strong, some believe it can act as a mirror to reflect malicious acts and thoughts back to an aggressor.
What healing properties does the Hamsa Hand Necklace carry?
Our diamond Hamsa hand necklace chain and pendant bring together symbols of wealth, power and spirituality. They are believed to heal relationships, bring abundance, balance and clarity. Diamonds are as old as the solar system, and have formed from carbon deep within the Earths mantle (2900km below the surface). They are then distributed close to the surface through volcanic eruptions deep within the earths crust. Diamonds are known to carry healing energy and strength to its wearer. For 3,000 years, diamonds have been enjoyed by the elite and were originally reserved for kings. Many cultures believe that diamonds hold mystical, spiritual and even medicinal powers. For centuries, diamonds have represented wealth, power and love. Ancient kings decorated their armor with diamonds believing it would protect them in war, seeing this armor the enemy would not attack a king.
Black spinel was originally thought to be ruby or sapphire. As a gem stone, it is very masculine and strong. Spinel was often included in burial items of kings and queens; the British royal crown contains spinel. Legend says spinel gem stones repel negativity and improve intellectual capacity.
Silver has long been a sought after metal recorded as early as 3,000 years BCE. There are purported medical and metaphysical benefits of silver. Historically, silver was used for its properties in healing infections and is still used today in creams and antibiotics. People have long associated silver with wealth and health. Silver also has a reputation for improving speech and eloquence as well as providing calming and balancing effects. Silver is seen as a mirror against negativity and evil. When worn in jewelry, silver is credited with regulating internal body heat and circulation, increasing energy and balancing moods. Sterling silver necklaces often brings relief to arthritis sufferers; there is evidence that silver may deflect electromagnetic radiation.
Our Diamond Hamsa Hand necklace is made from 2.8cts of single cut diamonds, set in a 925 solid sterling silver hamsa pendant.
